15th Season. Wow. As many of you know we announced ours on April 1st. It is a big thing announcing seasons. It represents a lot of work, time, juggling of numbers and resources, support and dialogue. It also represents
. hope. Not necessarily hope that well have a wildly successful season that everyone will rush out and buy blocks of tickets for their extended family. You always hope that. But rather a hope that what you share artistically will resonate with your community. Will serve.
I dont mean to sound corny but I find theatre to be the most vulnerable and beautifully fragile of all art forms. For without the communion of artist and audience it is incomplete. Right there you have a community talking. Even in the dark theatre as we sit and watch we are talking. The playwright listens and writes, the actor, director and designer lean down and give it breath and if it stopped right there it would be a glorious - pregnancy. But we dont have the birth until we have the circle completed between artist and audience. And as you know life is vulnerable and fragile. How nice that we get a chance to look at that in the dark together.
We are so proud to be announcing 15 years. Thats a big old story book with a lot of chapters. But really I think what it really is is a 14 year dialogue with you.
It is all of us. In the dark telling stories. Together.
On behalf of our artists, staff, our board of directors and our volunteers we thank you for 14 amazing years.
We are proud to announce your bouncing baby 15th Season.
Have a cigar on us.
